A country home away from home

Built in 1816 this recently extended Georgian farmhouse is set in its own large gardens surrounded by rolling Worcestershire farmland.  We are situated just outside Wolverley village in the North West corner of Worcestershire.  Drakelow Manor is owned and run by Eunice and Ross Hawken and their family, so a warm welcome is assured in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We provide bed and breakfast accommodation offering a full English breakfast or continental.  Most diets can be catered for with prior notice.

We have seven double en-suite rooms including a twin room and a ground floor room suitable for disabled/less able visitors.  We also have a stair lift access to the bedrooms on the first floor.

A stay at Drakelow Manor, set in the heart of England, provides you with the perfect chance to explore the many nearby attractions of the Wyre Forest area including; Kidderminster, the centre of the carpet industry for over 150 years, the West Midlands Safari Park, the Severn Valley Railway, Bodenham Arboretum, the Wyre Forest visitor centre and walks, to name just a few.  Just over the county border in Staffordshire is Kinver and Kinver edge, Wolverhampton is just 16 miles away.  Over the county border of Shropshire is a beautiful and historic town of Bridgnorth and a little further away Telford and Ironbridge Gorge and museums.

Wolverley is also home to many cave dwellings, picturesque walks, several pools for fishing and many challenging golf courses.

We are also ideally situated for our guests to travel to the home of Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, and the Black Country Museum at Dudley.

We are located 20 miles from Birmingham with its many interesting attractions.  Birmingham is also a short train journey of one hour 40 minutes from London Euston station.

Our four-poster room is suitable for honeymooners or that romantic weekend in the peaceful countryside.  You will only be woken by birdsong or sheep bleating.

We can cater for small functions such as weddings, christenings or anniversaries.  We have room in our garden for a marquee.  Please contact us with your requirements, we are always happy to discuss special arrangements for any event you might require.
